Another trip to the Zoo

The guys on lookout.

Back in August we went to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs. It was Poohs & Punky's first trip to the zoo. It was really a great day. Just too short!

These little guys are some of my favorites. I don't know why really, but they are.

Oh, have you noticed that I LOVE zoos? I hope to go sometime soon when the weather cools off. It got up to 95ยบ here today. It is October isn't it?

Do you think they are just watching the freaks go by with those weird black things up to their faces?

I took all of these at about the same time, maybe all within 5 minutes. To me they all looked dead until...

This little guy popped his head up to see what the crap I was doing!

Julie those are GREAT pictures! There's a TV show on here at present called Meerkat Manor. It's one of those nature shows where they have unattended cameras all around the place plus some with camera men.

What makes it diferrent is the commentary, they make it sound like you're watching Big Brother. They even have evictions and stuff. It's really good.

I'll take all the zoo photos you got.

We have meercats at our zoo, and I love to watch them. They're my favorites along with the otters. Not my favorites? The rhinos. They never move and besides the initial, "Hey, look! A Rhino!" They're really boring.

Cute, cute pictures. I couldn't help but giving this post my own title, "Life with Julie...It's a Zoo."
(Can you still not get to my blog?)

Well, why haven't I heard of Meerkat Manor? What channel is it on? Animal Planet? I have got to see this!

Life with me is a zoo. :)

Jessie - I have to agree about the Rhinos. You never see a huge crowd standing around watching them. HA!

Pamela - Love the new avatar!!! What a beauty you are!

Ok..here I am the orphan at the table again. I HATE zoos.

Yes, I am an admitted zoo hater. I go around with fantasies of setting them all free. I really only like the aquarium room at the zoo, love looking at all the fish. I always want to bawl when I see the tigers and the gorillas cooped up.

I LOVE MEERKATS! Love them - I want to have one.

On my honeymoon - we went to DisneyWorld - at Animal Kingdom, the meerkats were close to the Tigers. Those little meerkats kept their backs up against the glass to keep watch. Obviously, they had no fear of us people. They were worried about the tiger noises. I just think they are the cutest.

HAha. What are those things exactly.
And I think it's so funny how every single blog I've read has said something about "Hellloooo, mother nature, it's October already. Get with the program."

Cheeky - I am sorry it is only 62 there in Minnefreakinsota! I won't go into details about the weather here, it might just depress someone. Especially when they need to be out in it preparing for their run. ;)

Tiffany - you are the best!! Thanks so much for the link. I went there and am planning on watching on Friday. I can't wait. How silly is it to be excited about watching Meerkats? I am going to record it so I can show it to some other people I know. :)

Laura - That is quite alright. You are just weird. We understand. Just.kidding. :) I won't hold it against you that you don't like zoos. I just encourage you to go see all of these animals in the wild. I think that would be even more fun! Take me with you when you go. :)

Karmyn - Love the new avatar. And I can't wait to take the (grand)kiddos to DisneyWorld, then I will tell you if those poor little meerkats made it or died from anxiety. :)

MJ - Just wait. I found a really cute template I am trying to fix to put on here. Hopefully this weekend you will see lots of green and pink paisleys. :) I think there are paisley's in it, I don't remember. Oh well. Oh and check out the link Tiggerlane left, it is great (on the meerkats).

CPA Mom - I hope we get to see some photos from your trip to the zoo. :) That sounds like an awesome bday party to have.

Okay, Silly, what is it doing in your neck of the woods? Weather wise?

They're thinking "If we can't see YOU, YOU can't see us...and maybe, just maybe, that lady with the camera will go away."

Such fun little beasts. Really, truly, I LOVE the diversity in the animal kingdom :)...God had an amazing imagination when He came up with all kinds of creatures like these.............!
