There Are Enquiring Minds Out There

SillyHily wants to know who I know and how. Please read Yes, I know Ree!

I have gotten to know Swampwitch a bit from helping her with her "glob." We have spoke over the phone several times and we are planning to meet face to face next week. Hopefully one of us will have a camera with us.

And last but not least, Shauna. I met Shauna in Elementary Calculus class when I attended the junior college here in town. She and I studied together. I decided to take that class here because I have heard horror stories about some of the math professors over at the big school. Most of them are foreign and it is hard to understand them. That's it for the bloggers I know in real life.

Pete wanted to know how classes are going. Well, I have officially flunked my first test. There have been times that I thought I had flunked one after taking it, but this time I really flunked it. I have a meeting with the professor tomorrow. I don't really know why at this point but I will go anyway. I even studied for this test. Oh well. On a better note, I aced a quiz today. :)

And I did get your email Pete. I am sorry I haven't responded, I have fallen behind on my emails, blog reads, comments, etc. I hope everyone understands and bears with me. I will get on track somehow. Thanks for your patience.

Sorry you flunked. But, it was just one test. Hang in there.

When I was in college, (I went to community college for 2 years, first - and was a straight A student there). My very first Physics test at the University - I got a D. I was so upset, I threw my book out the third story window. My roommate ran downstairs and got it for me while I bawled. It got better.

Karmyn - I did the same thing. Junior College for 2 years, straight A's, got my Assoc. Degree and then headed to the big school. This has been my worst semester. I think it is because I am just tired of it. But it is almost over. I lost my ticker telling me when I will graduate when I did the template change, but that is okay it is still on the calendar. :) I know it will get better, I will just study even harder. At first it was tough losing my 4.0 GPA, but I learned to deal with it. Now I almost don't care.

Yes, hang in there. Failing one test don't mean a thing!! Maybe tomorrow you can figure it out!! If not, I have a nice wall to bang the head against...used, but still in decent shape!!

Blame it on Blogger!!!
I'm jealous that you're facing the monster of school again... and yet I don't think I could emotionally handle failing a test.

I thought you must have been swamped with schoolwork. Hang in there. We've all got faith in you.

I'm glad you ticker has gone, I hated seeing my life pass before my eyes so darn quickly.

I always hate that feeling you get from flunking a test, especially when you study for it. So disappointing. Maybe your professor will help you figure out where you went wrong so it won't happen again. But, hey, good job on acing the quiz!

Sorry to hear that you ldidn't pass a test. I can commiserate. I failed pharmacy, second semester in Nursing School. Had to take it over during the summer or lose a year..has to be completed before you can move on.
All's I can say is it's character building...that's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;0]

I like your new template, Julie! Very colorful.
And don't worry about the flunker clunker. One F won't ruin your life. Two will, but one won't. :)

Have a good week!

Ahhh... You are not truly a student until you have flunked a test.

But it does suck, so sorry about that part.

JulieJulieJulie...that's supposed to have a catchy rhythm to it. Congrats on acing the quiz. There will be other tests to flunk, believe me. Glad you finally were able to access us. I just keep waiting for that you happen again. It was a bummer.

Julie - I hate to hear that on your test! I did real crappy on one of mine last week. . .Oh well, the worst is over. . .
How's your Cost Acctg. class going? I need to find out where you are and maybe we can compare notes - I think you have the better prof.

Totally understandable. I just came out of a long period of blog reading neglect due to moving.

Sorry about your flunked test. It happens. I have flunked so many math tests... one of these days I will get up the guts to post my worst report card... EVER. It was a bad year.

Good luck with your meeting with the Prof.

I hate it when I feel pressured to blog read. So, I make myself take a day or two off and it always works. Once I don't feel pressured to read, I find that I miss reading.

And, well...yeah, flunking a test sucks. No way around it. Just lay it on the line with your prof. That works WAY better than any excuse and might buy you some good will.

Aaaaaiiieeee.....that's me screeching about your F. But I am sure it was just a fluke!! I've definitely flunked a few tests myself. You just have to keep on keeping on!

Shauna - I am not too worried about it, the test that is. I spoke to my professor and there were lots of people who flunked it. She is a super lady. Cost is going great! I am liking that class.

MJ - Thanks! I hate being away from the blogging world. It is like missing my favorite reality show (online). I will catch up. :) You did! If you can do it so can I.

The meeting with my Prof went well. She assured me that I could come out of the class with a respectable grade. As long as my group does well on our 15 page project. HA! I always get stuck with loser groups!

Laura - I did exactly that. I laid it all on the line with my Prof. I feel like I keep repeating myself. Most of these responses pertain to your comment as well. :) Thanks for the idea. I might try taking a couple of days off, well - at least one.

C - you may just get your wish. We are trying to work out a day and time we can meet. I may even get to meet her Grandbaby. ;)

Songbird - I will say this - I don't take tests well. I could recite my notes to you and then go take a test and panic. I have always done that. In the JuCo days we had more homework, projects, etc to keep the grades up. Her at the big school they don't have as much homework and only one or two tests. So one test can screw up your whole grade. At least this class there is homework, etc.

I am hanging in there. Just a couple of months to go. (I won't get too detailed on the time, it depresses Pete.)

We need to catch up with one another. I'd like to see where you are in Cost. . .Maybe you can give me a few tips from your class that might help me with mine. . .I don't like this man's way of teaching. . .
Hope I'm about done with him. . .LOL - - - I am about done with him - only 12 more hours after this! ! !
You're even closer! ! ! YEA! ! !

Okay. I knew how you knew Ree and Shauna. But I read a comment somewhere the other day about you having lunch with Swampwitch and that threw me for a loop b/c I was all, wait, how does she know her. And I know there are others out there that are related and know each other and I think I got really confused one day (not hard to do).
That sucks about your test. I'm so sorry. But yay for acing your quiz.

Hey.....I posted to this the other day...or at least I thought I did. Maybe I'm just deja vuing or something. I LIKE your new template :), but it's weird b/c it doesn't quite seem like ACR yet (but it will).
